For the past two days Elias has received first hand proof that everyone throws up sometimes.
Well, at least that Mommy does.
The first time I ever threw up in front of him he laughed at his silly Mama shouting at the toilet. This time I made him cry. Strapped in his booster chair with his back to the bathroom door he couldn't see what was happening. So between heaves I found myself saying, "Its ok sweetie Mommy is just throwing up." More scary sounds. More tears. "Remember how we talked about how everyone throws up sometimes."
I'm not sure which is worse being home with a sick kid or being home sick with a kid who does not understand.
The bright side is that now I know for sure that he wasn't sick due to increased cerebral pressure and I can stop "what if-ing." I can also stop feeling guilty for not tasting the chain restaurant's milk before giving it to him and am relieved that I didn't publicly point a finger at the place.
The down side is I still feel sort of like this :
(Just flip me over and put me on the couch)
Big hugs! I hope you feel better soon!

If it makes you feel any better -- when I had terrible morning sickness and threw up several times every day, my dog was terrified! She would hide in her crate or hide under the bed! Of course, you certainly can't explain to a dog why his mama is screaming at the toilet!
Feel better!

Yikes! Feel better. I hope you have some saltines & gingerale in the house. Aren't stomach flus/food poisoning just the best?

I guess a dog would be even harder to explain everything to...Thanks, I am feeling better today. And Nick not only brought home some gingerale yesterday but made homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner. Feelin' pretty lucky despite it all.

aaaaccck, one of the most stressful things I can think of is having to take care of someone else when I'm busy feeling pukey. Very quick recovery to you!

I totally feel for you! All three of mine had the stomach flu this weekend. When I was finally seeing the end of the puking and the other... I got it. Fortunately, it is short lived. Here's to a quick end of winter and the stomach flu season.

I'm so sorry! It is so hard to be sick, and harder still when your child can't understand. I hope you're getting all better now.

I hate puke! I hope you're ALL feeling better very soon. In the meantime, enjoy the ginger ale, soup, and the extra rest you're (hopefully) getting.

Oooh, I hope you feel better soon! At least, if Elias is already over it, you know it doesn't last long (though any time with a stomach bug is too long), and isn't a result of something worse or something you may or may not have done.
Chicken soup sounds yummy!
