I wish I sat in the auditorium to hear this speech. Quite possibly the best speech ever given by a high school student!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously.
Please take a moment to read Soeren Palumbo's words about the constant use of the word "retard" in school hallways --and beyond--and how this form of discrimination should be as unacceptable as all others.
The speech is a little confusing at first but stay with it. Please.

Ok, enough badgering for one day.
Thank you!
(And thanks Jess for sending this to me. I love you.)
That was astounding! Thank you for calling my attention to this incredible message. I hope many, many people read this!

I too hope it becomes required reading for staff and students at every school. I wish I had heard these words as a kid. Thanks Jennifer and Tonya for taking the time to read it.

Beautiful! I have a brother with many disabilities and this reminds me to free myself of my frustrations and disappointments with him and love him just as he is! Thanks for sharing this!

I loved that speech and can't wait to pass it on. Thank you so much for bringing it to our attention. We have dear friends who have such a special child in their lives with 3 other normal children and express similar thoughts.
Can't wait to hear how the biking goes this summer.
Love,
Noel
